A TIME SERIES OF HYPERSPECTRAL IMAGERY OF A FJORD ENVIRONMENT, EAST SOUND, ORCAS ISLAND, WASHINGTON
 
A two week time series of hyperspectral data was collected for East Sound, Orcas Island, WA with the Ocean Portable Hyperspectral Imager for Low-Light spectroscopy (Ocean PHILLS), a new hyperspectral imager specifically designed for imaging the coastal ocean. East sound was imaged at approximately 10:30 a.m. on 9 of the 14 days. This time series highlights the changes due to the tidal cycle which is the dominant physical forcing in this environment. The aircraft data is compared to ship measurements of remote sensing reflectance and in-water properties which are used to interpret the remote sensing signal in terms of features in the water.
