THE INFLUENCE OF NUTRIENTSON THE SPECIES COMPOSITION OF PHYTOPLANKTON ASSEMBLAGES
Change in species dominance is a wel-known symptom of eutrophication but the mechanisms for this are not always obvious. The impacts of changing nutrient load on crbon dynamics and underwater light can be decisive. An approach to devising habita templates of covarying responses to altered biomass capacity is presented. Species change is a probabalistic outcome of several dimensions of enrichment-induced variability.
