ASLO Multicultural Program

The ASLO Multicultural Program ( is an NSF-supported program devoted to increasing the diversity of students choosing careers in the aquatic sciences. Approximately 560 under-represented minority students have participated since the program began in 1990, and many have gone on to earn advanced degrees and become professionals in the field. Special events, workshops, and a Student Symposium will be held for Multicultural Program participants at the 2008 Ocean Sciences Meeting. The Student Symposium is open to all meeting registrants, and we encourage you to attend and demonstrate your support for this program.
