ASLO 2009 Multicultural Program
At the 2009 meeting in Nice, France, ASLO will hold its 20th annual program devoted to increasing the diversity of the pool of students choosing careers in the aquatic sciences. Nearly 640 underrepresented minority students have participated since the program began in 1990. Many of these students have gone on to earn advanced degrees and are now professionals in the field. The 2009 program will include a keynote address, a field trip, special workshops, and a student symposium open to all meeting attendees. The program is supported by a grant from NSF.
