| Statement of Interest |
| |
I am interested in the biological side of marine natural products. I am interested in the acquisition and study of marine organisms, especially invertebrates. I would like to focus on marine tropical biology and coral reefs.
I am also involved in academic minority organizations at the University of Washington that enourage people of color to participate in programs related to Math, Science, and Engineering.
My background in biology includes 3.5 years of biology related courses, a two month summer research program through the Organization for Tropical Studies in Costa Rica focusing on Tropical Biology, and water quality on the Guaymi Indigenous reservation, and also 1.5 years of lab assistant experience at a virology biotech company called Viral Logic Systems Corporation in Seattle, Washington. |
