Minorities in the Aquatic Sciences

In general, I am interested in open ocean pelagic species. Primarily migratory species such as tunas and billfish. By understanding complex migratory patterns, reproductive ecology, conservation, physiology and evolution, we can make more informed decisions about management policies for fish stock populations.

I'm presently an undergrad student, and am fortunate enough to intern with Hopkins Marine Station of Stanford University at the Tuna Research and Conservation Center. I have helped conduct physiological studies on tunas, and have been an integral part on several field excursions for archival and satellite tagging.

I am due to graduate in May 2007 and hope to pursue my doctorate in the same open ocean pelagic realm.
