| Statement of Interest | ||
Hi. I'm a 22 year old surfer that has chosen a career in oceanography as the best way to stay close to the ocean. I'm particularly interested in upper ocean processes such as currents and surface waves, and also mesoscale phenomena such as eddies and fronts. I'm a biologist that has only in the past year and a half realized the importance of physics and mathemathics, and now I'm hooked. Whereas years ago I would struggle in pre-calculus, oceanography has taught me the importance of mathemathics. Now I'm addicted to calculus, differential equations, geophysical fluid dynamics and lately topology.I strive for a career in physical oceanography or the atmospheric sciences.
