Copyright Permission

Please use the form below to request permission to use figures, table and other portions of material published in Limnology & Oceanography: Methods, in another publication. After submission, your request will be reviewed, and you will be notified via e-mail if your permission request is accepted or denied.

ASLO's policy is to charge a uniform fee of $50 per item for reproducing figures or tables from its journals, if the copyrighted figure is to appear in a for-profit publication. If an author requests permission to re-use his or her own work in a for-profit publication, permission is normally granted and no fee is charged.

If the copyrighted figure is to be used in a publication for a not-for-profit institution such as a college or university, the figures may be reproduced at no charge, with prior permission. ASLO grants permission in advance to make digital or print copies of portions of Limnology & Oceanography: Methods for personal or educational use, at no additional charge.

All copyrighted works, whether displayed electronically or in print, should be properly acknowledged as follows:

"Copyright 2003 by the American Society of Limnology and Oceanography, Inc." (date adjusted appropriately).

Once permission is granted to use an article or any part thereof of a work from Limnology & Oceanography: Methods, the full citation must include:

1. Name(s) of the author(s)
2. Journal title (Limnology & Oceanography: Methods)
3. Year of original publication
4. Volume number
5. Article title
6. Pages on which the reprinted item(s) originally appeared
