Developing a new aquatic science course? Time to refresh some aquatic science presentations and are looking for ideas? Need inspiration regarding how to translate key aquatic science issues in a straightforward manner to a diverse or non-specialist audience?
L&O e-Lectures (ISSN 2164-0254) are prepared by experts on various topics in aquatic sciences. They are peer-reviewed and fully citable. L&O e-Lectures are intended as a practical resource for educators and researchers for use at the postsecondary level or for the public at large. Each L&O e-Lecture includes presentation slides, detailed lecture notes to facilitate lecture usage and recommended reading lists for lecture users and targeted audiences. Presentation slides are available in PowerPoint and PDF formats and are both PC and Mac compatible.
There are numerous excellent reasons why ASLO members might consider developing an L&O e-Lecture. For example, several funding agencies now require scientists to not only justify the intellectual merit of their work, but also include a plan to address the broader impacts of their work for society. An L&O e-Lecture offers a fresh and effective alternative for addressing societal benefit requirements by providing a high-impact venue for publication in lecture format.
