The Department of Microbiology at the University of Tennessee-Knoxville anticipates that up to 10 graduate assistantships will be offered for admission for the fall 2014 class. The Department is a research active group with strengths including internationally known programs in marine microbiology, microbial ecology, virology, fungal biology, phycology, microbial genomics, systems biology and microbial pathogenesis. Positions are available for motivated students interested in employing state-of-the-art techniques in a dynamic research environment. In the heart of the Great Smoky Mountains, the city is a dynamic location which provides for a low cost - high quality of living for graduate students.
The Department will begin accepting applications on October 1, 2013.
