A postdoctoral research position at the Department of Marine Sciences at the University of Georgia is available in coastal physical oceanography. The successful candidate will participate in a collaborative research project where satellite measurements, in situ data from autonomous underwater gliders, and numerical models will be used to investigate the impact of western boundary current and eddies on the across-shelf exchange in the South Atlantic Bight. Candidates should have a Ph.D. in physical oceanography or closely related field. Candidates with a demonstrated aptitude for analysis of extensive data sets and/or experience with numerical models are especially encouraged to apply. The position is initially for 12 months with possibility of extension to three years pending on satisfactory performance.
