Postdoctoral Investigators - Marine Chemistry and Geochemistry

The Marine Chemistry and Geochemistry Department is seeking 2 Postdoctoral Investigators to join their team. These are temporary full-time appointments and are eligible for benefits. Anticipated dates of employment would be one year from start date with possibility of an additional year.
 
JOB SUMMARY:
 
Applicants are sought for two postdoctoral research positions in the areas of coastal and open-ocean marine ecosystem and biogeochemical modeling. The positions are for one year with the possibility of extension to two years. The position will involve the development, implementation and data-based evaluation of a model within the framework of either the NCAR Community Earth System Model (CESM) or the Regional Ocean Model System (ROMS).
 
Applicants with an interest and experience in environmental numerical modeling and/or the analysis of large data sets and a background in a relevant field which could include but is not limited to biological, chemical or physical oceanography, marine or aquatic ecology, biogeochemistry, fluid dynamics or ocean and environmental engineering are encouraged to apply.

Physical duties for this position include but are not limited to visual abilities of depth perception, ability to see peripherally, ability to adjust vision to bring objects into focus, ability to distinguish basic colors, ability to work extended periods on a computer. This position is mostly sedentary with use of hands for basic grasping/manipulation, occasional reaching, stooping, bending, kneeling, crouching. Physical duties are subject to change. 
 
EDUCATION DESIRED:

Ph.D is required.
