The Illinois Natural History Survey (INHS) is soliciting applications for a 2-year Post-doctoral Research Associate. Scientists whose research interests fit within those of the Illinois Natural History Survey are encouraged to apply. A salary of $42,000 per year with benefits is provided, as well as a $5000/year research stipend. Applicants should submit a CV and Research Proposal. The Research Proposal is limited to 3 pages, not including references, and should address the research plan proposed for the 2-year post-doctoral position. Applicants should identify and contact a research sponsor at the INHS (http://wwx.inhs.illinois.edu/opportunities/postdoc-sponsors/list/) in advance of the application deadline, who is willing to host the Post-doctoral Associate and provide a letter of support. Preference will be given to applicants who can develop a strong research plan that merits additional and continued external funding. Research plans that build on existing INHS research strengths by adding new directions or new analytical techniques are encouraged.
Applicants should have completed a Ph.D. by the start date of the position (expected before Dec. 31, 2013) and within the last 5 years. In addition to the Research Proposal, host support letter, and CV, applicants should arrange for 2 letters of recommendation to be sent. Applications must be sent electronically to firstname.lastname@example.org by March 15, 2013.
