Stetson University invites applications for a VISITING ASSISTANT PROFESSOR or POSTDOCTORAL FELLOW in our Department of Biology. We invite applications from biologists interested in collaborating with current faculty and mentoring undergraduate research projects in freshwater ecology, herpetology, plant ecology, or neurobiology. This position is funded by the Brown Faculty Fellow Program for one year with an option for a second year appointment after satisfactory performance.


Applicants must have a Ph.D. and research experience in freshwater ecology, herpetology, plant ecology, or neurobiology as well as a strong desire to develop, or to continue to develop, as an undergraduate teacher.


In keeping with the teacher-scholar model central to the mission of our liberal arts institution, this position involves both research and teaching.  The teaching load is one course with an associated lab each semester.

The Department of Biology (http://www.stetson.edu/artsci/biology/) currently supports majors in Biology, Aquatic and Marine Biology, and Molecular Biology. Faculty in the department are committed to providing rigorous scientific training in a traditional liberal arts environment in which the primary focus is extensive interaction with undergraduate students in small-class and one-on-one settings.
