Volunteer Water Quality Monitoring / Asst Riverkeeper
This position will work with the Coastal Carolina Universityís Waccamaw Watershed Academy and the Waccamaw RiverkeeperTM. Primary responsibilities will be scientific support of several volunteer water quality monitoring programs and assistance to the Waccamaw Riverkeeper program. Position is a full-time annual appointment with benefits.
Duties will include: field sampling and analysis, quality control procedures, data management and statistical analyses. The coordinator engages in rigorous field work, trains others in sampling and analytical techniques, and coordinates the activities of students and volunteer monitors. Opportunities are available to perform data analyses, deliver professional presentations, author publications, and develop science-to-management activities in partnership with local municipalities and NGOís.
Requirements: Bachelorís degree in science and one (1) year related job experience. Applicant will possess strong field, laboratory and computer skills. Must maintain a valid SC driverís license.
