Postdoc reactive transport processes / contaminated sediments
We have an immediate opening for a post-doctoral researcher in the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering at Northwestern University to lead an integrated investigation of coupled physical, chemical, and biological processes in contaminated sediments. The postdoc will design and supervise execution of laboratory experiments, evaluate interfacial and porewater fluxes, and coordinate with other project staff to perform state-of-the-art analyses of sediment structure, contaminant speciation, and biological feedbacks and effects (bioturbation, bioavailability, etc.) This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a background in environmental fluid mechanics, contaminant transport, sediment transport, geomorphodynamics, sediment diagenesis, or related areas to take a leadership role in a highly interdisciplinary study.
Interested applicants should send an informal statement of interest and CV to Dr. Aaron Packman by email at a-packman@northwestern.edu. More information can be found at http://www.civil.northwestern.edu/people/packman/index.html.
