Postdoctoral position in endangered Unionid mussels
A Postdoctoral position is available immediately to participate in an ongoing study of endangered freshwater mussels in Southern Ontario rivers. The project involves the identification of host fish, laboratory and field transformation of glochidia larvae, and the rearing of juvenile mussels. Some interaction is anticipated with academia, government, conservation authorities and others in recovery programs and recovery potential assessments of unionid species at risk. The ideal candidate should have experience working in invertebrate ecology and with Unionid mussels and their host fish in particular, excellent field and interpersonal skills, project management skills, and a strong interest in conservation. The position is available immediately.
