Environmental Modeler- Surface Water Quality

We are currently seeking a full-time Environmental Modeler (Surface Water Quality) / Senior Associate to support USEPA Large Lakes Research Station on our client site at EPA in Grosse Ile, MI.
Job Description (duties): The Environmental Modeler will be responsible for developing mathematical models and applying them to the Great Lakes and other large water bodies. The modeling types include contaminant fate and transport, eutrophication, sediment transport and food chain bioaccumulation models. The candidate must have experience with surface water quality modeling.
Skills / Experience Required:
- Experience with food chain modeling and/or sediment transport
- Knowledge of the Great Lakes and/or Gulf of Mexico
- MS or PhD and relevant experience Environmental Engineering or a related field
- At least 3 years of modeling experience
- Contaminant fate and transport, eutrophication, sediment transport and/or food chain bioaccumulation models.
- Knowledge of dissolved oxygen dynamics in lakes and estuaries a plus.
- Expertise and experience with current trends in fresh/estuarine/saltwater eutrophication a plus.
- Hands on experience with eutrophication models such as CE-QUAL-ICM, WASP etc. a plus.
