MS graduate fellowships-phytoplankton ecology
Graduate (MS) Positions in Phytoplankton Ecology

Graduate student fellowships are available as early as September 2004 on the following NSF-funded projects:
1)Effects of ultraviolet radiation on pelagic food webs: Investigate the effects of UV, temperature, and nutrient limitation on phytoplankton production and community structure in a series of mesocosm experiments conducted in the Pocono Mountains, PA. Work with several collaborators to integrate results across the food web.
2)Effects of dissolved organic material on primary production: Investigate interactions between dissolved organic material and nutrients, and the influence that this may have upon regulating primary production, in prairie lakes of the Northern Great Plains.
Selection will be based on undergraduate grades (GPA), GRE’s (minimum combined score of 1100 on v-GRE & q-GRE), and letters of reference from at least three persons with sufficient knowledge of the applicant’s potential for research.
