Undergraduate Biology Research – Junior and Senior Years
• Independent research studies in conjunction with current food web study of Stellwagen Bank in the Western Gulf of Maine
• Performed 3 full semesters of research on food web dynamics by fish stomach analysis, stable isotope analysis, and size and habitat dependent statistical analyses
• Researched and wrote scientific papers with original research and analysis
• Trained new research students and lab volunteers in lab protocol and techniques including stomach analysis, stable isotope analysis, and data entry
• Field experience: Sampling on fishing trawler in Gulf of Maine
Marine Semester – Fall 2006
• Studied at the Marine Biological Laboratory in Woods Hole, MA for 2 months
• Field project assessment of the current and possible future environmental conditions in Little Pond, Falmouth, MA with concentration on fish and shellfish populations
• Public presentation of findings to town of Falmouth, MA
• Field course on Wae Wae Caye, Belize, with independent and class research projects
• Honorable mention for the Lara Vincent Prize for Original Research at Boston University Marine Program
