| DESCRIPTION OF ACTIVITIES AND BACKGROUND | |
I am currently in college, and have completed 2 credits of a directed independent study (DIS) which I studied the enhancement of oyster settlement on artificial substrates by using chemical cues. I am currently working on another credit (1) of DIS also working with oysters, specifically oyster reef restoration. I am very interested in the restoration of reefs, both oyster reefs and coral reefs. I have relocated to Wilmington, NC and plan to obtain employment in either NC or SC and I am willing to travel. I will work with almost anything residing in the ocean, but I only have experience so far with the Eastern Oyster, Crassostrea virginica. I am available to start working in May 2008, but I will be enrolled part-time at UNCW still. I graduate in July 2008, and will be able to start work as soon as possible. | |
