Research Interests: Adaptative patterns of pelagic fish populations in response to fishing pressure on individual schools; kinematics (animal movement patterns) and spatial structure of fish schools, with attention to avoidance reactions of the schools to fishing and research vessels; effects of fish behavior on population assessments; methods for managing aquatic ecosystems; development and application of methods and software for in situ observations of individual fish, schools, and groups of schools including combinations of sensors, mostly acoustic, such as long range omni-directional and side scan sonars.
