I am a recent graduate of the University of Rhode Island, with a
dual degree in Marine Biology (BS) and History (BA). I am
currently working with Dr. Christopher Deacutis on Macroalgae
surveys on Narragansett Bay. To do so, we do boat and
helicopter surveys monthly and I help with all the equipment as
well as data processing.

Prior to this, I worked at the University of Rhode Island as both a
tour guide and an aide in the Dean’s Office of Arts and Sciences.
I also have done research with Dr. Alison Roberts on CesA genes
by implanting them in moss using insitu hybridization. I also
completed an internship with M. Holland Company, where I
worked on quality assurance of plastic through testing and data
analysis. I have a lot of research experience not only through
coursework at the University, but through these research
projects, internships, and jobs as well.

I am enthusiastic about working outdoors, and have a lot of field
experience as well. I am comfortable on boats and helicopters. I
have done coursework in field botany, ecology, physiology, and
of course, marine biology and oceanography. I am also Scuba
certified, was a lifeguard and water polo player, and am
therefore an excellent swimmer.
