| SEPARATION AND DETECTION OF LOW MOLECULAR WEIGHT ORGANIC ACIDS IN SEAWATER USING HPLC WITH PDA/UV AND FLUORESCENCE DETECTION. |
 |
| A semi-automated method for separation and detection of low molecular weight (LMW) organic acids at seawater concentrations is presented. Derivatization of the organic acids with a fluorescent label makes possible the use of fluorescence detection, thereby lowering the detection limit to the nanomolar range. Liquid chromatography and a tandem unit consisting of a photodiode array-detector and a fluorescent detector are used for quantification. Blank and recovery data will also be presented. |
